Blessing our church leaders is the mission of the Showers of Blessings
Ministry.  The Rev. Willie B  Williams Memorial Scholarship and The Rev.
Geneva Crawford Leadership Award  are just two the ways in which we
carry out the mission of this ministry.

The Rev. Willie B Williams Memorial Scholarship
The Rev. Willie B Williams Memorial Scholarship is designed to
encourage women pastors who are going the extra mile.  Offered each
Spring we seek women who are ordained itinerant elders in the African
Methodist Episcopal Church, enrolled in an AFT accredited seminary or
school of theology and are actively pastoring a church.  To date, two
women in ministry have received this scholarship, Rev. Karen Jamison
and Rev. Ella M. McDonald.

Rev. Willie B Williams
Rev. Willie B Williams was one of the first women ordained an itinerant
deacon in the Tenth Episcopal Church (Texas) of the African Methodist
Episcopal Church.  Known for her fiery preaching and strong leadership,
she was also blessed with a powerful prophetic and healing anointing.
Called to preach in 1929, Rev. Williams pastored many churches in the
10th Episcopal District from 1935 until her retirement in 1967.

Several offspring of Rev. Willie B Williams have been called into ministry:
her granddaughter, Rev. B Williams Waters, her grandson, Elder Willis L.
Williams, and her great-grandsons, Rev. Michael Williams Waters, and
Min. Romar McBride.  Born April 15, 1894 in Chappell Hill, Texas, Rev.
Williams went home to be with her Lord on November 19, 1978.

The Rev. Geneva Crawford Leadership Award
The purpose of The Rev. Geneva Crawford Leadership Award is to honor
women in ministry who, through effective leadership, have served the
church with dedication
and integrity.

Rev. Geneva Josephine Johnson Crawford
Rev. Geneva Josephine Johnson Crawford was born on June 25, 1914 in
Brazoria, TX, Mims Community, in a  house immediately behind Zion
Temple AME Church.  Called to preach in 1953, Rev. Crawford was
ordained an itinerant elder by Bishop Howard T. Primm on October 13,
1956.  During her 22 years as a pastor, Rev. Crawford founded two
churches.  In her later years, she served as an associate minster on the
ministerial staff of her daughter, Rev. Dr. Maggie J. Crawford, also an
ordained itinerant elder in the AME Church.  Rev. Geneva Crawford went to
her reward on April 22, 2007.
